The problem
Poor natural search ranking performance
As an online retailer the performance of the company's website in attracting high quality traffic is absolutely critical to overall business success.
Despite the company's high profile in its market segment analysis showed that for the company's key product categories the majority of website traffic was obtained through paid-for pay-per-click search engine advertising, rather than through unpaid natural 'organic' search results. In short the natural search ranking performance for both the website Home page and key product pages was unacceptable.

Keyword analysis and selection, on and off-site search engine optimisation recommendations
On-site:
We undertook an in-depth keyword analysis to create a candidate list of keywords for the company's five main product categories.
After selection, with the client, of the primary and secondary keywords for each product category we provided detailed recommendations for the optimisation of relevant pages across the site, including reworking of both HTML elements, headlines and body text. These were implemented by the company's webmaster.
Off-site:
In order to provide the company with a wide range of possibilities for obtaining quality back links we provided the client with a detailed analysis of existing back links, back links linking to competitors, possible reciprocal link websites and relevant blog pages
Results
Natural search engine ranking performance continues to show consistent improvement with an increasingly significant proportion of web traffic coming from natural search results.
